How do I get started? Download the Initial Client Intake Form and fill in all data as best you can then call my office at either 706-235-7006 or 770-607-0600 and set up an appointment for a free initial consultation at either my Rome office or my Cartersville office. When you come to your consultation in addition to bringing your completed Client Intake Form, you will also need to provide my office a complete list of all creditors so that I can get a complete working knowledge of your financial situation. You can download the Creditor List Form for your convenience. If you do not know all of your creditors, you might wish to contact a credit reporting agency and request a copy of your credit report (See Credit Reports). Be aware, however, that the report might not list everyone that you owe money. You will also need to bring a photo ID and proof of your Social Security Number. If you feel that you will need to file either a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 when you come for your initial interview you may want to complete the full Client Intake Form before your initial interview and bring that completed form with you to your first interview.
When you file Bankruptcy, either a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13, you might hear some terms that are unfamiliar. This list of Bankruptcy Terms might help you understand these terms. If you choose to file a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 you should download and read the Bankruptcy Information Sheet. If you choose to file a Chapter 13 you should be aware of your Chapter 13 Rights and Responsibilities. The Chapter 13 Trustee that is assigned to all cases filed in the Northern District of Georgia, Rome Division are assigned to Mary Ida Townsen, Chapter 13 Trustee, Suite 300, The Equitable Building, 100 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Ga 30303. The Trustee's Chapter 13 Brochure can be downloaded for your review. Remember that if you are in a chapter 13 case you should note some things you should know about your case.
